Amy Turcotte: Cheerleader to God & Called to Encourage 2011!!!
This has been a real “growing” year for me. I briefly had to go part-time during the past spring due to losing a large donor, and thought that I would be able to work a full time secular job and do FCA. Let me tell you- losing that donor was probably the best thing that could have happened to me at that time. I quickly found out that I could not make excuses for doing what God has called me to do- and that is full time ministry. It also showed me how hard I will have to work to be able to do this and I am thankful for the prayers and sacrifices by family, friends and YOU! I am a missionary, except for I have been called to work right here in our community with our local youth and coaches, not in a far away country.
Every year I have to secure my funding for my budget by means of raising funds and asking for donations. Sometime it is hard to ask others for money, but I have to remember that I am asking for your help so that I can do what God has called me to do. The easiest way for you to help me is to sign up on my HOME TEAM and give a set amount monthly - any amount. This really helps me set my budget for camp scholarships and Bibles.
I absolutely love working with our middle and high school students and athletes, promoting strong Christian values. I know I am called to be an encourager. Kind of like a cheerleader for God, encouraging our kids and coaches and everyone whom I meet what He can do! To think I swore in high school that I would NEVER be a cheerleader!! But what a great honor and privilege to share what God has done in my life and let others know that He can do the same thing for them! God fills voids that will never be able to be filled with anything other than His love & grace! I meet amazing young people every day and the more I can encourage and equip them to make good decisions by sharing God’s word and His love… I am ever so happy & fulfilled. Thank you for your part in helping others know Jesus Christ through sports.
God Bless…..Amy Turcotte
